A Very EMJ Christmas

Spirits have been bright at EMJ as our teams gathered to celebrate the holiday season. The Southeast and Southwest office celebrations may have looked a little different, but the outcome was still the same—lots of laughter, fun games and way too many sweet treats.

The Southwest office kicked off the festivities on December 1st with day one of the 12 days of Christmas. Each of the 12 days created opportunities for co-workers to gather during the work day for some fun. The 12 days of Christmas included everything from Torchy’s breakfast tacos, fresh Tiff’s Treats deliveries, EMJ Jeopardy, the saran wrap ball game (if you know, you know), a shuffleboard tournament, and more—all of which culminated with a celebratory lunch from Babe’s Chicken, which is a crowd favorite.

The Southeast office celebrated with a night at Top Golf, complete with a fajita bar and ugly sweater contest (because it wouldn’t have been a true EMJ event without some friendly competition). There’s plenty of photo evidence below, but the official results are as follows: First Place – Jonathon Couch; 2nd Place – Blake Kaylor; Honorable Mention – Brad Primus.

With the holiday celebrations also comes the end of one year and the beginning of another. This past year, our leaders encouraged our people to focus on what it means to “Be the standard.”  So, as we began to reflect on the year and celebrate the Christmas season ahead, our President and CEO, Jack Bowen, encouraged us with the following.

“I saw experts in the field. I saw amazing commitment to our work. I saw you being generous with other. We work in a tough industry. And we want to be the standard for delivering an exceptional experience to our clients, partners, and colleagues. Thank you for helping us grow in those areas and thank you for a great year.”

At EMJ, we are more than the work we do. We value our people, above all else, and strive to invest in our people. Our celebrations and traditions are just a small way to show that we appreciate our people and the way they exemplify what it means to “Be the Standard.”
