Last week, the first H-E-B in North Texas officially opened its doors. This long awaited milestone was commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside H-E-B partners and leadership from the city of Frisco.
“Opening our flagship H-E-B format in the DFW area has been an aspirational goal of ours for many years, and the company has a long-term commitment to serve a broad range of customers and communities across North Texas,” said Stephen Butt, President – Central Market Division, and H-E-B Board Member
The new 118,000-square-foot store is filled with state-of-the-art amenities and innovations and has distinctive features such as a True Texas BBQ, full-service H-E-B Pharmacy with a drive-thru, car wash, fuel station, and Home by H-E-B home décor department featuring furniture, woven textiles, and accent pieces from the Haven + Key and Texas Proud collections.
Inside and out, the store is designed to reflect the character unique to the Frisco community while emphasizing environmental sustainability, incorporating several energy efficient inclusions such as CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting. The site also features extensive native landscaping and an outdoor community space.
“H-E-B is a purpose-driven company with an unwavering commitment to customer service and community, said William Mosher, EVP, EMJ Construction. “We are honored to play a small part in the successful grand opening of the Frisco store. I have a feeling quite a few of our employees will be shopping there in the coming days!”
The opening of the first H-E-B in North Texas brought quite a bit of fanfare with over 1,500 people in line before the doors even opened and over 1,000 pounds of brisket sold by the end of the first day. Read more here.
