Women in Construction (WIC) Week™ is a dedicated time to celebrate and elevate the role of women in the construction industry. This annual event, hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), highlights the contributions of women in all areas of construction and encourages future generations to explore the many career opportunities available in the field.
At EMJ, we are proud to recognize the hard work, dedication, and expertise of the talented women who contribute to our success. From the job site to the office, women play an integral role in shaping our projects and driving innovation in the industry.
“There has never been a better time for women to enter the construction industry,” said Heather Collins, EVP of People and IT. “With ample job openings, accessible training programs, and clear paths for career advancement, the opportunities are endless.”
NAWIC launched the first WIC Week in 1998, and it has grown into a nationwide initiative with events hosted by local chapters across the country. This year’s theme, ‘Together We Rise,’ underscores the collective strength and unity of women shaping the future of construction.
Throughout the week, EMJ encourages women considering a career in construction to explore the many paths available, including preconstruction, project management, engineering, architecture, and skilled trades. No matter the role, women are making a significant impact in every aspect of the industry.
“By championing the growth and achievements of women in construction, we continue to build a stronger, more innovative industry,” added Collins. “We are committed to fostering a workplace where diverse perspectives drive our success,”
