Overview
Volkswagen Training Center is a 160,000-square-foot automotive training facility in Chattanooga, Tenn. The facility consists of five interconnected pods located on the eastern tier and overlooking the new Volkswagen Automotive Manufacturing Plant. The training center blends manufacturing with education and requires construction to meet the tolerances of assembly line specifications and the environmental requirements of a learning academy. This facility includes learning laboratories and simulated production lines. The EMJ team partnered with Walbridge Construction as a joint venture to construct this facility for the partnership of Volkswagen of America, the city of Chattanooga, and Chattanooga State Community College. The training center’s construction within seven months allows for training of over 2,000 employees to start.
