The Shaw Create Center has been selected as the most innovative workplace design in Fast Company’s Annual Innovation By Design competition, which honors the best design in business, from products to buildings to UX.
The vision of Shaw Industries Group, Inc., is to create a better future, for its customers, company, people and communities. In 2017, Shaw opened the doors to its Create Centre in Cartersville, Ga. The 67,000-square-foot facility represents the company’s commitment to think differently and invest in growth and cutting-edge developments.
As Shaw Chairman and CEO Vance Bell noted in announcing the Centre’s opening,“Innovation doesn’t just happen. It’s a process of consistently and intentionally reaching beyond what we’ve done before. The Create Centre is an exciting and stimulating new work environment that was designed to foster collaboration, cross-pollination of ideas across teams and departments, and greater engagement with our customers as we focus even more keenly on customer experience.”
Designed by architecture firm, Gensler, and built by EMJ Construction, the unique design offers ample natural light, a variety of public and private areas to support different thinking styles, and elements to benefit employees’ wellbeing. The contemporary, clean environment promotes creativity and collaboration and serves as home to Shaw’s commercial marketing, design and innovation teams.
The Centre also encompasses an eco-friendly design to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification standards. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, certification is granted to new construction deemed environmentally healthy and sustainable.
“The Create Centre will provide the ideal setting for our talented team members to create, dream, collaborate and solve challenges,” noted Brenda Knowles, Vice President of Marketing, Shaw Commercial Division, in announcing the Centre’s opening. “It’s a space where our customer obsession can come to life. Similar to the approach we take in developing our flooring products, this space is where form and function, beauty and performance come together.”
By promoting innovation and creativity for employees, recruiting new generations of talent, and raising the bar in the industry, the Create Centre is setting the stage for the future of Shaw Industries Group.
