Engineering News-Record (ENR) annually ranks the Top 400 Contractors in the country according to their revenue in a calendar year. This year, EMJ Corporation is ranked #86 overall and #19 in the power sector.
This is due to the work of our family of companies, office staff, and project teams who work tirelessly to deliver unique value to our clients, partners and colleagues each day. Check out some of the top projects listed below.
In addition to our listing among the Top 400 Contractors, the May issue of ENR also features our work with Branch Technology on the first 3D-printed house, which will be built in Chattanooga this year.
Top Projects 2017
Our ranking among the top 100 this year is due to hundreds of projects completed during fiscal year 2017, including stand-out projects such as Shaw Create Centre, West Towne Marketplace, Tranquillity 8 Solar and Wegmans.
The Shaw Create Centre is a 67,000-square-foot office building in Cartersville, Ga., built to serve as home to Shaw Industries Group’s commercial marketing, design and innovation teams. Designed by architecture firm, Gensler, the EMJ team constructed the unique facility and performed all site work.
West Towne Marketplace is a 63-acre, open-air retail development in El Paso, Texas. The Dallas team, who received an Outstanding Project award for the project, performed all site work and constructed 320,837-square-feet of retail space, including build-outs for TJ Maxx, PetSmart and Rack Room. EMJ Construction’s Chattanooga team simultaneously built the Cabela’s store on the property.
Wegmans is a 20,000-square-foot grocery store at Meadow Glen Marketplace in Medford, Mass. In addition to building Wegmans, Petco and Dick’s Sporting Goods, EMJ managed the demolition of Meadow Glen Mall, a 200,000-square-foot, 35-year-old shopping center, to make way for the new development.
EMJ’s #19 ranking in the power sector is due to the work of Signal Energy Constructors, a member of our family of companies.
Last year, Signal completed Tranquillity 8, a solar power project in Fresno County, Calif., on 1,900 acres that produces enough clean energy to power approximately 50,000 homes. The project team was recognized this year with one of the corporation’s annual awards, the Edgar M. Jolley Award for Outstanding Project, for their exceptional work on the project.
Congratulations to all of our teams within the family of companies and many thanks to the clients with whom we worked over the past year.
